Easy to use
I buy giant jugs of fruit juice. The lids are very difficult to remove. This little gadget works great.

Works but not easy for seniors with weak hand / arm strength
Needed a jar opener for aging seniors with weak arm and hand strength. Most devices are slightly tricky until you get the hang of it, especially since you usually need one hand on the device + the other holding the jar. Decide to go with Eazy Off.Sharing some observations after testing these devices:EZ Off Jar Opener for Weak Handshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B000X6K9J8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsAllows two hands to grip the jar. Probably get the most leverage if you place device where arms can fully extend, or on a lower cabinet shelf where elbow is almost 90 degrees, which also allows a little body weight to help keep the jar in place. Find a shelf that’s not recessed so you can actually see the edge of the device as a guide to insert the jar.OXO Good Grips Twisting Jar Openerhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZC55TP2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsWide spread of teeth on both clamps to grip the lid. Worked on an assortment of lids. Not easy for seniors with weak arm / hand strength since the offset handle still needs some strength to create leverage, and still need a hand to hold the jar (unless you get a partner to help). For this device, you need to pull (or twist) the handle while still pressing the center spindle with your palm to avoid the device slipping off the lid. Giving it 4 stars because it feels like a solid OXO design except not good for seniors.Master Opener Adjustable Jar & Bottle Openerhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L12PRDZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsRatchet-like design that works but dimples (bites) both sides of the lid. Ratchet provides good clamping force to open the jar. Teeth only one side of the clamp. Need to ensure both sides of the clamp are against the lid when you close (grip) the ratchet, otherwise device slips off. However, not the easiest device for aging seniors with weak arm / hand strength.Jar Opener Can Opener Bottle Opener for Senior, Arthritis Hands and Anyone with Low Strength, Arthritis Jar Opener Get Lids Off Easilyhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z8CTTYF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsDespite assortment of openings on this device, it was still awkward figuring out which one would fit a Classico spaghetti lid. Requires some wide handed grip strength so not ideal for aging seniors with weakening hands.

Does the Trick!
My wife sparred with me a little over my getting yet another gadget to inhabit the drawer left of the stove. But in the month or so that I’ve had this bottle and jar opener, it has proved its worth and quelled any debate as to its permanent place with the other indispensable kitchen tools.Unlike some of the other openers that come up when you search for them here on Amazon, this one has no plastic parts. It’s all good old metal, and nicely designed. Just run the loose end up to the lid, grip the lever, and screw that difficult lid off. I’ve taught my wife to do it–not that it’s hard at all–but she still calls me when she wants a tight one removed. Both of us have gotten to the age that hints of arthritis, etc., make some chores difficult. And it seems to me that lids have actually become tighter in the past few years. This little device does the trick. And it was substantially smaller and more compact than some of the other devices advertised for the same purpose. Money well spent.

This is a waste of metal and not worthy of anyone’s attention
This device in photographs and in general concept is convincing: finally a tool which allows a person to solidly grip a lid and twist it off. This year I purchased this and a different kind of tool and both failed miserably to do what was expected. I should have paid greater attention to the size and some of the details and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn’t have wasted my money on this. The jar grip. This is a toothed rim which may work to bite into a plastic jar lid of a certain size. I am not completely sure what it is meant to work with. All I know is that it won’t grip any lid I work with. What I thought I saw was a grip made of rubber of great enough width that when compressed against a circular lid on both sides would hang on while the lid was loosened. It is not there. The grip is useless. The lock. This is handle that looks like it locks down and keeps the grip tight while you then move the overall device anti-clockwise (or to the left). This doesn’t lock anything. It engages with a toothed surface but does not stay engaged. You can’t keep pushing this down to keep the grip while also attempting to rotate the entire device. Instead I was expecting more of a vice-grip sort of approach that allows the grip to be tightened and locked in place. That is what I thought I saw in the pictures. It is not so in reality. The length. I really wanted this for lids which have a diameter of more than a few inches. They are tough to loosen. You need the length to be at least twice the expected maximum jar diameter to get the leverage needed to twist off the lid. The key element to making this dislodge difficult seals is the leverage. This device is too small to accomodate anything but the smallest lids.In short, this device was meant to look like something that should work and fails miserably.

Can Opening Assist that Sporadically works!
Getting older and having a lot of difficulty opening tops on jarred items. Thought I would try this since theoretically from the description it would be just the thing. Let me be fair and say it does work…..BUT getting the adjustable part to snug up just right is a little time consuming / frustrating and it doesn’t ride up and down the little shaft evenly always so you have to wiggle or shimmy it a bit to get it snugged on the top. Once in place though, not so bad to hold pressure on the lever and rotate. It is a mediocre item that sporadically works well and is a bit flimsy. For the quality it is …….it should be maybe a few dollars. — Will use it until it stops working but not planning on buying another.

really works
this works great! I have weak arthritic hands. This makes life so much easier. It actually loosens the lid

Better options available
Worked a few times, and then didn’t. The mechanism to lock onto the lid is a poor design, flimsy, not reliable. My wife told me to toss it into the trash.
